Postnord locations

The PostNord app includes a map where users can search for service points and postboxes. The map features filtering options that let users check details like whether a service point is currently open or if a postbox has already been emptied for the day.

This project was initiated due to outdated code and a design that no longer aligned with the rest of the app. Additionally, with the introduction of new postboxes featuring updated functionalities, we saw an opportunity to not only improve the design and fix existing bugs, but also enhance the overall feature to better support users’ needs.

We wanted the map to be able to scale as the business grew with new boxes and making it possible for the users to navigate without having to read info that wasn’t relevant to them.

Result

To improve the user experience of the map, we replaced the old pop-up window with a bottom sheet that sits on top of the map. This new approach allows users to still view the map while also accessing a scrollable list of nearby PostNord locations. Instead of tapping each pin for more information, users now get all the key details directly in the sheet, like address, opening hours, service type, and distance. It also includes a search function, making it easy to look up a specific address or location.

The bottom sheet also has the new filtering function. Here, users can choose which types of postboxes or service points they want to display on the map. We replaced the previous long list with clear, categorized filters with its own icon to make it quicker and easier to navigate. Tags allow for more specific filtering, depending on the selected category.

We also rewrote much of the copy to make it clearer and more user-friendly, removing unnecessary information that wasn’t relevant to most users.
